Psychometric properties of the assertiveness scale ADCA-1 in psychology students from Trujillo

Abstract

It was determined the psychometric properties of the assertiveness scale ADCA-1, under the technological-psychometric design, ascending to (n = 850) non-probabilistic of a population (N = 1142) in college students; the content validity was analyzed with the V of Aiken with 8 judges the construct validity with Pearson in (n = 287) corrected item-test, in addition to the confirmatory factorial analysis and the C hi squared in the goodness adjustment; the reliability for stability was by Pearson in (n = 120) with a test-retest; the reliability for internal consistency by the Alpha of Cronbach in (n = 287) and the normality test in (n = 287) using the Mann Whitney U for being non-parametric in (n = 109) to elaborate the scales of both men and women. The results showed perfect and high levels in: relevance, clarity and coherence with the theoretical construct; Construct validity Item-test corrected with very significant correlations (p <.01) with their respective scales, good levels of discrimination (.320 and .520), kindly good adjustment (860-872), highly significant differences (p <0.01), consistent validity. The internal consistency is high in the population investigated; a very good and respectable reliability in the scales. Questionnaire stability provides high significance in self-assertiveness and hetero-assertiveness. The percentile norms were also prepared by sex, levels and cutoffs at the significance level p <.01, and the population profile, finding average levels.
