Abstract

This study determines the relation that exists between the autoconcept and the academic performance, of the students of the fifth degree of secondary in the educational institutions of Florencia de Mora-Trujillo's district. The investigation has descriptive scope - correlacional, in that two instruments were applied to compile information: The questionnaire of autoconcept forms 5 (AF 5) and the test of academic performance, being considered to be a random sample stratified of 87 students. There was as result that: there exists highly significant relation (p <0.01) between the autoconcept and the academic performance in the students of the fifth degree of secondary, whose general value: r =, 966 (positive very high correlation). The conclusions are interpreted in terms applied to continue strengthening the autoconcept and the academic performance, coinciding with previous studies and theoretical foundations.
