Abstract

This work of investigation was to determine if there is a greater presence of suicide risk in women who are victims of family violence, which in Women Not Victims of Family Violence, New Chimbote. The type of employee research was descriptive. The sample consisted of 104 women, of whom 52 were victims of family violence and 52 not victims of family violence, whose ages ranged between 15 and 45 years of age. The instrument used was the scale of Suicidal Risk of Plutchik. It was found that the difference in suicide risk among women victims and not victims of family violence is highly significant (X2 =49.111, gl=1, p<.01). Being found that 67.3 % of women who are the victims of family violence are at increased risk of suicide, in comparison to women not Victims of Family Violence, those who have a 1.9 % risk of suicide. It was also found that socio demographic factors such as socioeconomic status (marginal), marital status (without any romantic relationship) degree of instruction (no and primary) and age (15 to 45 years) have an impact on the increase in suicide risk in the study population, especially in the group of women victims of family violence.
