Abstract

In this project, it was determined the study of back pressure turbine replacement by electric motors of induction for the use of electrical energy in the company Cana Brava. A mass balance and energy to determine the efficiency of the currentthermoelectric plant and boiler. We calculated the new network of pipes in improvement for the steam supply to the turbinebackpressure, modeled reflective the electric generators and electrical conductors in medium voltage for the transport ofenergy to the transformer, which was also sizing and selected. Is modeled reflective the squirrel cage electric motors, variablespeed drives for better controllability of the Mills and grinders and electrical conductors in low voltage. The increase in the efficiency of boiler is of 8.08% and 3.78% of the thermoelectric plant in terms of improvement. The electricenergy surplus for sale to the SEIN is 1.45MW, earning an annual income of 2133936 N.S./year, if the preferential pricethrough Osinergmin is 60 $/MWh.The returns period of the investment is 0.33 years, a rate of 15% obtaining a NPV equal to$ 10343191 and a IRR of 304%.
