Abstract

The present investigation evaluates the emissions of taxi service vehicles in circulation in the city of Trujillo,in order to evaluate compliance with the Maximum Permissible Limits of emissions of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and carbon dioxide, established in DS No. 047 - 2001-MTC and its amendment DS 009-2012-MINAM. For the study, the National Traffic and Tourism Police, the Inspectors of the Freight Transport and Road Safety Management, as well as Metropolitan Transport of Trujillo, the institutions that allowed the intervention of the drivers to follow the vehicles the exhaust pipe with the non-dispersive infrared emission evaluation team. The research is non-experimental, with transverse temporality and comparative descriptive. The population was made up of 17 804 vehicles that provide the taxi service in Trujillo Metropolitan

and the sample was 138 Taxis. The observation technique was used, through which the observation card was used as an instrument that allowed gathering the required information. The data obtained afterwards were processed using the Excel spreadsheet and the SPSS23 statistic to perform the analysis of normality, comparison of means, and for the rest of the groups evaluated with a level of significance α < 0.05. Concluding that, the evaluation of vehicular emissions made to taxi services in Trujillo Metropolitan, 97.1% does not comply with the maximum permissible limits of polluting emissions for motor vehicles.
