Abstract

This article focused on increasing efficiency lifetime of 40 circular knitting machines (Vanguard, Monark and Mayer) of the textile company WG S.A.C. To solve this problem the design and proposal of a preventive maintenance plan focused on the reliability and availability was raised.the current situation of circular machines were analyzed finding reliability and availability 13.62% 82.03% reflecting critical values for the textile company.194 interventions were considered flawed on average for each circular machine and 1552 h / year losses for different faults on circular machines. Finding through an analysis of criticality six critical flaws such as variable speed drive, shots of needles, fabric detectors, positive feeder (Memminger), and improper placement of needles and lack of lubrication maintenance indicators projected improvement status, obtaining 98.5% 85.5% availability and reliability.
