Abstract

The investigation sought to improve the working methods of the production process to reduce defective products in the enterprise Calzado JULY S.A.C in 2016. The population for this study consisted of pairs of shoes manufactured by the enterprise. Its daily production is about 3 dozen ballerinas 166. It was taken a convenience sample consisting of the total footwear produced in a production week before and after the improvements were made. For this purpose, a longitudinal study was performed to measure the random variables before and after intentionally manipulate the independent variable. The results were collected by using the checklist format of quality control of the final product measured by compliance with the technical specifications. The study led to improved processes of cutting, profiling, assembling and finishing. The end result was a 9% decrease in defective products regarding compliance with technical specifications, concluding that the effect of improving the method of work helped reduce defective products in the enterprise Calzado JULY S.A.C. This was confirmed by means of statistical analysis with the Wilcoxon test by not submitting the data in a normal behavior, giving this a value Plower than 0.05.
