This is a quantitative approach study, with a non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional and convenience sampling design; with the objective of analyzing aspects of pre-competition psychological load of the Colombian National Team of Wushu in Sanda style. A total of 23 elite athletes participated -ascribed and duly affiliated to the FCW (73.9% men and 26% women) with age range 20-35 years (M=25 SD=4.59). The P.S.E. and anxiety test was applied, considering that the impact of the loads does not depend only on their energetic cost, but also includes the influence of other morphological, social and psychological stressors. At the P.S.E. level, it was observed that men perceived the effort as moderate (3) and a little severe (4), while women perceived the effort as severe (5,6), suddenly affecting anxiety levels. On the other hand, the results obtained for state anxiety and depression show a higher incidence in women, being this an emotional state or transitory condition, as opposed to men who present higher levels of anxiety and behavioral disposition. The STATA statistical package, version 15.0 for Windows, was used for data analysis and processing.
