The general objective of this non-experimental, simple descriptive research was to measure the level of aerobic endurance in swimmers under 18 and 19 youth category. The population consisted of 60 swimmers with a sample of 20 swimmers (ACR Olimpic Club, Club Berendson and Streamline Club) and with a convenience sampling within the district of Trujillo, taking into consideration clubs that are affiliated to the Peruvian Swimming Federation for the respective calls to the national swimming team. The critical swimming speed test was used as an instrument to measure the swimmers. The results showed that in the ACR Olimpic Club 50% of the swimmers are at a good level and 50% at a poor level. In the Berendson club, 40% of the swimmers are in a good level and 60% in a bad level. In the Streamline club, 35% of the swimmers are with a good level and 65% with a poor level. In conclusion, we can say that the vast majority of swimmers have poor aerobic endurance because the coaches do not plan the workloads in order to facilitate them to have an optimal sports performance based on long distance aerobic endurance.
