Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between attitudes towards machismo and emotional dependence on students belonging to a national University of NuevoChimbote, 2015. The study was conducted with a sample of 342 University students, who were selected probabilistically. The design used is descriptive correlational not experimental scope of cross section. The instruments used were the scale of attitudes machismo Maria Bustamante Gutierrez and inventory of emotional dependence Aiquipa J. Tello. In the results it was found that variables machismo attitudes and emotional dependence are associated significantly. Overall, the prevailing machismo acceptance of indecision and the rejection of machismo. Males have a very high level of emotional dependency in a relationship and women have low or normal levels.
