Parental socialization styles and aggressiveness in adolescent

Abstract

The present investigation had as general aims determine the relation between the styles of parental socialization and the types of aggressiveness that shows the teenagers of the Educational Institution "San Luis of the Peace ", in the District Nuevo Chimbote. A not experimental descriptive – Correlational study was used. The sample was composed by 229 teenagers of both sexes, with ages that ranged between 12 and 17 years, using as instruments of evaluation the Scale of styles of socialization parental in the adolescence (ESPA-29) and the Questionnaire of premeditated and impulsive aggressiveness in teenagers (CAPI-A). As for the obtained results one found significant relation between the styles of socialization parental mother and paternal with the types of aggressiveness. And in turn, there showed itself inverse and significant correlation in the dimension acceptance/implication with the premeditated dimension; and direct and significant correlation in the dimension restriction/imposition with the dimensions premeditated and impulsive. Finally it was concluded that the manners of upbringing authoritarian and indulgent it relates to the aggressiveness it premeditated and mixed.
