Abstract

The objective of the study was to determine the optimum percentage of asphalt cement that asphalt cold Mixes made with liquid asphalt MC-30 aggregates quarries San Martin and Cerro Campana, and these are the ones determined by the Marshall method in Trujillo – La Libertad, It obtaining THROUGH laboratory test methods of soil mechanics and pavements with cold mix asphalt and to facilitate the processing of such tests tables, graphs, images, etc. are used with the support of rules and parameters proposed by MTC, AASHTO and ASTM respectively. This project was performed in two quarries mentioned above, the first quarry is located at Kilometer

590 + 700 on the North Panamericana highway, and his name is "San Martin" and the second quarry is located at Kilometer 529 + 500 North Panamericana highway and its name is "Cerro Campana". According to the analysis of the results of tests by Marshall method the optimal percentage of liquid asphalt MC-30 in the quarry San Martin is 5.41% and the Cerro Campana quarry is 5.08%, and according to tests performed in the quarry stability San Martin 1543 lb (700.58kg) is obtained, and these results hold for the medium and the base folder transit, as specified by the Asphalt Institute (USA) for the design Marshall.
