Abstract

This type and qualitative research aimed to know and understand the risk and protective factors from the experiences of adolescent drug users in the city of Cartavio in the period 2014 phenomenological trajectory of the phenomenon located was used, applying as a technique for data collection depth interviews; through the guiding questions and the use of previous recordings I informed consent of each one of the teenagers was achieved record experiences about the object of study. The sample consisted of 10 adolescent drug users in the town of Cartavio, where he sought to have them encourage his feelings and to express their experience with drug use. The ideographic or individual analysis and interpreted meaning units allowed to turn or nomothetic general analysis of all cases finding convergences as differences in the experiences of adolescents. The object of study, emphasizing as the major risk factor for initiating drug use was unveiled: the influence of consumer friends, followed by family problems, try various combinations of drugs, only marijuana consumption, truancy, interest own in drugs, involvement in selling drugs, social networks and consume just for fun. While the most important emerging protective factors that prevent drug use were: the support of parents, especially the mother, followed by the support of friends nonusers, play football, support at school and support family. The results of this study should be considered when implementing prevention strategies to reduce drug use.
