This study determine the relation between needing and energy intake in soccer players of first division from Trujillo National University team August - October 2012. The type of study was descriptive and correlational. Consisted of 30 players from Trujillo first division team, who complayed the criteria selection. Data collection in the case of intake energy was obtained using 24-hours recall, Energy requirement was derived with basal metabolism (Harris Benedict formula), food thermogenesis and Physical activity Factor (factorial method). All measurements were performed during just one week. Participants were measured barefoot and weighed with its training short. The results showed that the average energy intake of the UNT soccer players were 2396.96 Kcal with a variation of 137.38 kilocalories about the average. The average energy requirement of the UNT soccer players was 2296.7 kcal, ranging from 294.27 kilocalories about the average, reaching the conclusion that the intake was higher than the requirement
