Abstract

This investigation applied, descriptive - correlational, and transversal, determine life styles and his relationship with cardiovascular factors like: consumption of tobacco, consumption of alcohol, overweight and sedentarism, in the teenagers of the Maria Negron Ugarte College Trujillo - Peru 2012. It had a population of 1700 registered teenagers and a sample of 314, to which two quizzes were applied: life style and cardiovascular risk factors. The information was processed in SPSS v18 and Excel 2010. One found that the Average level (74 %) is the most preponderant way of life in teenagers. 76 % of the teenagers does not consume alcohol, 95 % does not consume tobacco and 69,4 % does not present obesity. Nevertheless, 52 % presents sedentarism. The results revealed that there is no dependency relationship between the life style and cardiovascular risk factors: smoking, alcohol consumption, sedentary lifestyle and obesity, because, the values of Chi-square were: 2.44 - 5.34 and 2.47 respectively, and the p- values greater than 0.05 indicates that the relationships are not significant.
