Abstract

Currently, breast cancer is a deadly disease in advanced stages, a public health problem that brings about changes in self-esteem and body image, compromising a person's quality of life. This research was conducted at the Regional Institute of Neoplastic Diseases-Trujillo during the months July- October, 2018, through the review of literature and previous work on the topic under study; the type of research was experimental, explicative of cause-effect. The population was made up of 300

women with breast cancer and the sample was 100 women. The survey was used as a technique, the questionnaire as an instrument, and the Alpha Cronbach pilot test for the reliability of the instrument.In conclusion, the effect of the workshop “Confronting Myself to Life” applied to breast cancer patients in women aged between 18-45 years was partially positive and of medium self-esteem level.
