Incidence and viability of cryptosporidium parvum in drinking water of the Victor Larco Herrera district – Trujillo

The objective of this research was to determine the presence of Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts in drinking water in the district of Victor Larco Herrera Trujillo. In this study, 50 samples of drinking water obtained from farms, homes and institutions each of the samples was collected in a glass bottle of 300 ml capacity were analyzed. The samples were transported in a bucket of ice and analyzed the same day of recolection; it consisted primarily in the implementation of improved staining method Koster and then the observation microscope 100 px. Of the 50 samples analyzed were observed Cryptosporidium parvum in about 28% of samples, while 72% of the samples show Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts. In the first ten samples on the date 30/10/15 analyze just 1 Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts were found in the point P2 and P3, for the following ten samples taken on the date 11/02/15 50% of the samples showed oocysts. In the P11, P16 and P20 (1) oocyst point in P13 (4) point and the point P19 oocysts (7) Cryptosporidium parvum, for the other 10 samples taken on the date 13/11/15 only two points Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts found in the P24 (4) point P26 and the point (16) for the next 10 samples taken on 11.14.15 was found only in 3 points Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts in the P31, P34, P37 where they presented only one oocyst, and finally for the last 10 samples analyzed 11/25/15 only 2 points Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts found in the P41 (2) and the point P47 (1) point.
