Abstract

To determine the association between therapeutic adherence and level of social support in patients with high blood pressure at Hospital de Apoyo Chepén, September-December 2017. Material and methods: correlational, cross-sectional study. The sample was made up of 195 patients, between 40 and 70 years old, suffering from high blood pressure. Both the Morisky therapeutic adherence questionnaire and the social support level questionnaire were applied. Results: the average age was 57.56 ± 7.55 years, 68.7% of the patients were female, 97.9% presented a low level of therapeutic adherence, and 80.5% presented a minimum level of social support. Conclusions: there was no significant association between therapeutic adherence and the level of social support in the studied population.
