Influence of "Catch" Program in the care of the students of English course IEP "Sacred Heart" , Trujillo city - 2008

The present study is aimed at investigating the extent in which the application of a Games Program, which was named CATCH (cáptalo) Games Program, influences the attention of the 6th grade-English students' attention of primary education of the I.E.P. Sagrado Corazon of Trujillo city. The investigation asserts that the CATCH Games Program helps to improving the attention, which was made operative into three dimensions: sustained attention, motivation and selective attention. The used methodology was a preexperimental one. The population under study was constituted by 80 English course students of the 6th grade, sections A and B of primary education. After applying the CATCH Games Program, it was found that it influences the attention level in the students, helping to improve it in a highly significant manner with 1% of significance level ( < 0.01). Also, it was found that the CATCH Games Program fostered in a highly significant manner the sustained attention with 1% of significance level ( < 0.01), the motivation with 1% of significance level ( < 0.01), and the selective attention with 1% of significance level ( < 0.01).
