Abstract

The purpose of the research is to characterize the teaching skills in the use of New Technologies of Information and Communication (ICT) of teachers Mariana University to suggest an improvement plan, it was identified as the teachers of the University Mariana access, know and use the technologies of communication and information in their teaching – learning process, these tools contribute to the achievement of competencies by students, since no you can ignore the new century is influenced by rapid change and that no country will escape these changes, changes in economic, political, social, cultural, environmental, demographic, educational, govern the fate of governments, businesses, educational institutions and especially of human beings that is why national and international organizations as the Ministry of Education and Unesco have been included among the objectives of educational policy acquire basic skills in information technology and communication and ICT a strategy to improve the quality of education.To give course to the proposed objective in the research, it was determined the following: identify the conception of competence in the use of ICTs, determine the level of access, analyze the level of knowledge and establish the management and academic use of ICTs, by Marianna University faculty, in order to generate a culture of pedagogical use of new technologies, which are formed on a support to improve quality of education in each of the academic programs offered by the University As mentioned Sierra Caballero: "Guillermo Orozco warns," The application of computer software in education responds primarily to two very different rationalities: technocratic logic and pedagogical perspective.
