Management skills as a predictor of organizational change management

This article aims to explain the influence of managerial skills on change management in the Dirección Regional de Producción ( Regional Production Management), Ancash, using an epistemic positivist approach, the hypothetical deductive method and an explanatory design, with level of knowledge and confirmation of hypotheses, with 56 employees and questionnaires of 65 and 48 items, valid in content and construct with a reliability coefficient of 0.923 and 0.943. Among the most outstanding results found are that overall management skills explain 82.5% of the variation of change management. 84.4% for communication and teamwork. 85.3%, for lack of eye contact, not taking notes, not using adequate tones and voice volume, implemented communicative strategies that undermine workers' identification, not working in teams towards a shared mission and vision generate lack of commitment, and due to disinformation about environmental threats workers are unable to overcome difficulties; events that predict the management of change processes in the organization. Managers are not prepared to implement change programs in the organization and adapt their behavior, prevailing improvisation (Arbaiza, 2010; Madrigal, 2009). They must change their own behavior before asking anyone to do it for them (Gil; 2013).
