The purpose of this study is to determine if there is a difference between the histopathological subtypes of basal cell carcinoma and their body distribution in relation to age in patients treated at Hospital Belén de Trujillo during the years 2007 to 2013. To determine if there is a difference between the histopathological subtypes of basal cell carcinoma and its body distribution in relation to the age of the patients, a comparative cross-sectional method was used. The data come from all the excised and histologically confirmed tissue samples from patients with basal cell carcinoma, identified in the anatomopathological study report book of the Hospital Belén de Trujillo. Data were obtained from 233 registries of patients with basal cell carcinoma, of which 210 corresponded to those over 50 years of age and 23 to those under 50 years of age. A significant difference was found in the nodular (p = 0.0457) and superficial (p <0.0) subtypes. Likewise, in body distribution, a significant difference was found in extremities according to age. However, according to sex, no significant difference was found. When differentiating the subtypes according to sex, a significant difference was only found in the mixed subtype (p = 0.0001). The most frequent histopathological subtypes of basal cell carcinoma were nodular, followed by superficial and infiltrative and its most frequent body distribution was the face followed by the extremities in patients under 50 years of age treated at the Hospital Belén de Trujillo during 2007 to 2013.
