In order to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice on hospital solid waste management (HSWM), a descriptive-correlational research of transversal design was developed among the personnel of the Establecimiento de Salud Primavera, 2018. An inventory to evaluate the knowledge on management of HSWM structured in 4 dimensions (general knowledge, conditioning, segregation and primary storage) plus a questionnaire on the practice in the management of HSW was applied to 130 welfare and administrative workers of the institution. It was found that the knowledge in its 4 dimensions was mostly optimal (40.8%, 38.5%, 39.2% and 40.8% respectively), while practice in the management of HSW was inadequate in 49.2%. It was concluded that general knowledge, conditioning, segregation and primary storage were inversely and significantly related to the practice in the management of HSW in the Establecimiento de Salud Primavera, 2018
