Abstract

The aim of the research was to identify the impact of educational interventions on the nutritional status of children in preschool stage of Wichanzao Sector, district of La Esperanza - Trujillo during 2015. The research design used was experimental with pretest and post-test with one group or series on line, with a sample of 147 children in preschool age who were enrolled during 2015 in educational institutions of initial Sarita Colonia and Lucerito del Amanacer of Wichanzao - La Esperanza Trujillo, whose mothers attended educational interventions which consisted of workshops on nutrition and healthy lunchboxes preschool. The nutritional status of preschool before the educational intervention was 1.35%; 78.91%; 12.25% and 7.48% malnourished children, normal, overweight and obese, respectively and after the educational intervention nutritional status improved to 85.03%; 8.84% and 4.08% for normal weight, overweight and obese respectively, except malnourished children where there was a slight increase to 2.04%. Also, before the educational intervention children in preschool stage they had been normal and malnutrition by 78.91% and 21.09%, respectively; whereas after educational intervention significantly improved results as an 85.03% of children with normal nutritional status and children with malnutrition low to 14.97%. the significant favorable impact of the educational intervention on the nutritional status of children in preschool stage of Wichanzao sector, La Esperanza District - Trujillo was demonstrated by McNemar's Test, to obtain a value of significance p = 0.0389 (p <0,05).
