Abstract

The research question of the study was What is the burden of disease in the insured population of the Assistance Network La Libertad - EsSalud in 2012?; to determine the burden of disease in the insured population of the Assistance Network La Libertad - EsSalud at 2 012. It is a descriptive study; DALYs were the result of adding the years of potential life lost (YLL) to years lived with disability (YLD) for each of the diseases by age and sex. For Life Years Lived with Disabilities on "Gesmor" program and then DISMOD II was used. It was found that the burden of disease was 120 589 DALYs. The ADL were 90% of DALYs, 10% corresponded to AVP. The highest percentage of DALYs were attributed to women. No significant difference was found in the years of life lost one sexes. Women had the highest percentage of life years lived with disability. Noncommunicable diseases were the leading cause of DALYs. The conclusion was, 120 589 were lost years of healthy life (DALYs) in the insured population of the Assistance Network La Libertad
