Abstract

In order to determine the influence of the educational program on the level of knowledge and practice of management and selective distribution of solid waste in workers of Zonal Market Pacasmayo. La Libertad 2014. It was conducted a pre experimental pretest posttest study with one group in a sample of 76 workers to whom it was applied a questionnaire at two points before and after participation in the educational program. The results indicate that in the pretest 54% of the sample had a regular knowledge level, followed by 43 % at a good level and 3% with a poor level; while in the post test the majority (79 %) showed a good level of knowledge, 21% regular worker level and no respondent filed a poor level of knowledge. The levels of practice in solid waste management workers increased after the implementation of the educational program; since in most pretest is 75% showed an inappropriate level and 25% had an adequate level, while in the posttest; 50 % of the workers had inadequate level and 50% adequate. The educational program positively influenced increasing the level of knowledge management and selective distribution of solid waste (p = 0.00).
