Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the water quality of the river in the area Yauli district of the same name in the department of Junín, impacted by acid mine drainage (AMD from mine tailings from mining extraction polymetallic ores such as copper (Co) and iron (Fe) which companies conduct installed surrounding the river. The research was conducted in the dry season (May - September) of 2013. The method was to conduct monitoring on -1 RY , RY-2 and RY RY -3 -4 marked points and used by the Directorate - General for Environmental Health Digesa to determine the presence and amount of lead and iron in river. Regional Monitoring Protocol sanitary quality of surface water resources regulated by Digesa in collecting the relevant information was also used. The information was compared with the environmental quality standards for water, its 3 Watering Plants and Animals drinks Determining that there is presence of iron ions in the waters of the river Yauli, product of drainage and the presence of tailings, mine entry left without an adequate closure plan has been executed.
