Parental satisfaction with nursing care for pediatric cancer patients at a specialized cancer institute

This study analyses parental satisfaction with nursing care in pediatric oncology patients hospitalized at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (INEN). Using a descriptive quantitative design and a sample of 80 parents, four dimensions were assessed: accessibility, anticipation, trusting relationship and monitoring/follow-up. The instrument validated by Aiken's V (0.95) and with high reliability (α = 0.95), revealed that 60% of parents reported a high level of satisfaction. The study highlights the need to strengthen the link between nursing and family to improve the quality of pediatric oncology care. It is concluded that incorporating the family in the nursing care and accompanying them in the process of the disease becomes a space for trust and learning in comprehensive care.
