Experiences of the inhabitants of Peru about the citizen participation in municipal management

The general objective of this research was to understand the experience of residents regarding citizen participation in municipal management. The research had a qualitative approach, it was basic. The methodology used was the phenomenology that sought to know from the experiences of the residents how active citizen participation occurs, for data collection, the in-depth interview technique was used and the semi-structured interview guide was used as an instrument, nine participated. key informants from three departments of Peru. The results made it possible to demonstrate through the experiences of the residents that citizen participation is important since it allows residents to be active participants in the projects carried out by the municipality, in addition, to observe if they really use the public resources provided by the state to mitigate the needs of the people with transparency. In this sense, it was concluded that citizen participation is essential, despite not belonging to a neighborhood organization, since through their participation they can intervene in the participatory budget, build governance, strengthen democracy, and generate citizen participation in the community. municipal management.
