This research aimed to identify the psychometric properties of the Professional and Occupational Interest Inventory Casm 83-Revised and a study of the Professional Perspective in a university of Trujillo. The target population was formed by 942 freshmen semester 2014-II of the Universidad César Vallejo, and the sample by 624 students, with a significance level of 99% and 0.03 sampling error. The sample was selected by non-probability sampling, specifically intentional sampling. The Professional and Occupational Interest Inventory Casm 83-Revised, whose author is Luis Alberto Vicuña Peri, was used. The results on the validity by confirmatory factor analysis were highly significant(p<.01) finding many correlations between items within each scale, forming 11 areas. In the validity by item-test analysis, the results were appropriate, Spearman’s correlation coefficient was used finding correlations with a highly significant level (p<.01) of discrimination between items in the scales; also degrees of direct correlation of moderated level in most items of different scales were also found. In construct validity, levels of direct correlation of moderate and high grades and a value “p” highly significant were found. The reliability of stability was determined by test-retest with the Spearman coefficient finding a positive and highly significantrelationship. (p<.01). For internal consistency reliability, the Cronbach alpha coefficient was used for different scales and found high levels of reliability.
