Abstract

Acute coronary ischemic syndrome (ACS) is a form of cardiovascular disease (CVD), which is considered a global public health problem, due to its high mortality rate among the adult population. The use of predictive models to assess the risk of death from AIDS is fundamental, but little known and used in clinical practice. In this sense, this review aimed to identify predictive models that assess the risk of mortality from SICA, through a review process of the scientific literature. A search strategy based on the PEO components (population, exposure and outcome) was designed. Search terms such as population, acute coronary syndrome, predictive models and death were used, as well as thesauri, related terms and in English, with which search algorithms were generated for the SCOPUS, Web of Science, EMBASE and PubMed information bases. We found 5110 articles, of which 168 duplicates were eliminated, 5080 were excluded (due to language, age and accessibility) and 21 because they did not contain the study variables. The results show 9 articles whose findings show the predictive models TIMI, GRACE and HEART, as the most used. The results obtained by these 3 predictive models were significantly associated with mortality (p<0,001), and with AUC values greater than 0,80. It is concluded that the TIMI, GRACE and HEART models are suitable for assessing the risk of death from AIDS. Its use is important to strengthen strategies that improve CVD prevention and control actions.
