Educación sexual en niños, adolescentes y jóvenes con trastorno del espectro autista: una revisión sistemática de la literatura de las últimas cuatro décadas

En la actualidad, las investigaciones indican que las personas autistas tienen tanto el derecho como la necesidad de recibir una educación sexual adecuada que fomente su desarrollo integral. Sin embargo, hasta el momento, no se ha realizado ninguna revisión sistemática que permita sintetizar los hallazgos de investigación sobre este tema. El objetivo de esta revisión sistemática fue examinar y sintetizar las investigaciones sobre la educación sexual para personas autistas. Se seleccionaron 17 estudios publicados entre los años 1976 y 2022, extraídos de WoS, Scopus, PubMed, PsycArticles y ProQuest. Se utilizó el método PRISMA como guía metodológica, y la calidad de los estudios seleccionados se evaluó mediante el QATSDD. Los resultados revelaron la existencia de cuatro perspectivas para abordar la educación sexual de adolescentes, jóvenes y adultos autistas. Además, los hallazgos de esta investigación demuestran que las personas autistas tienen menos oportunidades de acceder a educación sexual, lo que subraya la necesidad de proporcionar una mayor cobertura en la enseñanza en esta área. Se discuten las implicaciones para la práctica, la política y la investigación futura.
