Abstract

This investigation had the purpose of evaluating the influence of the pH and the concentration of Haloferax sp in the decrease of organic matter, through the parameters DBO5 and DQO of the effluent of the tail water plant of the company EXALMAR SAC, for this designed and built three batch reactors for the experimental treatments, the variables that were manipulated were the pH with values of 7, 10 and 12; and the concentration of bacteria Haloferax sp. (3 * 108UFC / ml, 6 * 108 UFC / ml and 9 * 108 UFC / ml). The parameters of BOD5 and DQO were analyzed in said effluent, before and after the treatment according to their factors, pH and the concentration of bacteria Haloferax sp. Based on the results obtained according to the purpose of this investigation, it was verified that the wastewater from the effluent of the tail water plant, before and after the experimental treatment, does not comply with the LMPs (DBO5 and DQO), established according to Ministerial Resolution 178-2014-MINAM, however in the application of bioremediation at experimental level, the best results obtained in the reduction of BOD5 was 52.66% and in COD it was 59.39%, with a time of 72 hours and a pH of 12.
