Implementation of Lean Manufacturing to improve product quality in the company producing “Calzado Lupita” S.A. -2016

Abstract

This research proposes to improve the quality of the product in the company Calzados Lupita in 2016, through the implementation of a productive management model based on Lean Manufacturing tools. The population for this study is made up of pairs of shoes made by the company, this is the moccasin model of child, production is approximately 12 dozen weekly (144 pairs). The implementation of Lean Manufacturing identified quality defects by using the quality control format from which the tools : Lean Value Stream Mapping, 5´S, Poka Yoke were applied , the preparation of technical specification sheets and a quality control sheet format were also carried out. Through the data collected from the sampling performed, using the quality control sheet as a support tool and the test of Shapiro – Wilk was checked with a significance of 0.00 that the quality after of the implementation of Lean Manufacturing is significantly higher than the quality before it. It was concluded that the implementation of Lean Manufacturing was able to improve the quality of the product in a 44% in the company Calzados Lupita in 2016.
