Abstract

The present investigation is with the purpose of proposing a design adapted to the needs of the Municipal Palace of the District of Huaso - Province of Julcán, “La Libertad” Region. Realizing three designs as alternative of solutions to the need to design and build a new municipal palace; because currently he does not have one in his own district. The alternatives of solution were: Structural portic system of reinforced concrete, design portic of laminated steel (metallic), design portic mixed (steel and concrete); The best alternative was discriminated taking into account the following variables: the structural behavior, direct cost and construction time. Of course, the only goal is not simply to do the design for the district of Huaso, but also to make known the strengths of mixed design and desing in steel, because they are not very common in our “La Libertad” Region. When

developing the three designs, a system of relative weights for established to determine the best design alternative, using the author's criteria, in which the advantages of the mixed design were evidenced over the other two designs, maintaining a balance between the comparable variables. However, it is emphasized that each design is completely good and each has its own strengths.
