The objective of this study, was to know which sociodemographic factors are associated with family satisfaction in a sample of 756 adolescents from Arequipa. We used a sociodemographic sheet and the Family Satisfaction Scale (E.S.F) that measures the dimensions of cohesion and adaptability. The analysis was based on a model for a entire sample and for two-parent households. It confirmed lower levels of cohesion in single-parent households (-1.88) and lower levels of cohesion (-3.44) and adaptability (-2.39) in non-core households; households of divorced and separated parents are associated with lower levels of cohesion (-2.9) and adaptability (-2.53); having one more brother or sister seeks better levels of adaptability (1.83, 1.97) but lower levels of cohesion; On the other hand, lower levels of cohesion were found in women than in men (-1.82; -1.92). The model of the two-parent households concludes that the occupation of the mother inside or outside the city decreases the levels of cohesion and adaptability in the children (-1.98; -3.35).
