COVID - 19Abstract
A laboratory study 6 reports finding that SARS-CoV-2 remains viable for up to three hours when artificially aerosolized, which does not occur naturally because neither coughing nor sneezing produces this nebulization, the density of the viral particle in the micro droplets of saliva causes them to deposit on surfaces where the virus can remain active for several hours 7. A study in Wuhan 8 measures virus concentrations in different settings and finds an undetectable or low SARSCoV-2 concentration in the air of hallways and waiting rooms.
