Abstract

The present study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Coping Responses Inventory Adult Form (CRI-A) of R. H. Moos Spanish version. We worked with 560 students of both sexes, 78.0% men and 22.0% women, aged 18 to 25 years (M = 19.7, SD = 1.9), from III to V cycle higher education institutes of the Esperanza District. We analyzed the internal consistency of the inventory's scale making difference between sexes. The results showed that the scores were moderate and acceptable, demonstrating it's confiability. The correlation between scales showed significant and very significant correlations with appropriate intensity. On the other hand, it wasfound that the inventory has validity. The item-test analysis showed adequate correlations between of the scale's items, obtained construct validity by factor analysis. It shows the existence of two factors approach and avoidance, corroborating the obtain in the spanish adaptation except Emotional Release scale factor saturates contrary to the theoretical suppositions.
