SWOT analysis in the fuel marketing sector
case of a Service Station in the city of Trujillo

The purpose of this research was to carry out the SWOT analysis of a Service Station in the city of Trujillo (Peru), within the framework of its strategic planning process. The work done has been developed as a case study; with non-experimental design, descriptive scope and cross-section. The data collection techniques used have been the interview and documentary analysis. The analysis of the data has followed the criteria established by the specialized literature for the formulation of the SWOT matrix (strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats. The results have demonstrated not only the competitive position of the analyzed company but also the practical utility SWOT analysis as an effective tool for the generation of organizational strategies.
