The chavimochic project and its impact on the economy of the deportmet of La Libertad

Abstract

The present documentary research work has had as objective to know the impact that has had in the economy the deportment of La Libertad the implementation of the first and second stage of the Chavimochic Project. A documentary review was made finding that with the implementation of the project 46.700 new hectares were incorporated into the agricultural activity and the irrigation of 28.300 hectares was improved. Additionally, production in 2012 reached a gross value of US $ 536 million, 11.9 times more than in 1981, when there was no project. Another finding was that exports of agro industrial products have increased from US $ 12.7 million in 1995 to US $ 700.3 million in 2016. Finally, the main agro-export companies have created 72.600 new direct jobs.
