The general objective was to determine the relationship between adherence to treatment and quality of life in patients with chronic renal failure on hemodialysis. The specific objectives are to determine adherence to treatment in patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis and to determine the quality of life in patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis. A correlational study was developed in a sample of 76 patients, to whom the Morisky-Green Test was applied to determine adherence to treatment and the KDQOL-SF version 1.3 health questionnaire to assess quality of life. The data were processed in the SPSS version 24.0 program for Windows, through which the contingency coefficient was applied with p <0,05 to establish the relationship of the variables. It was found that 60,45% of patients had adherence to treatment and 40,8% had a good quality of life; the contingency coefficient was 0,22, p: 0,04 for the relationship of the two variables. It is concluded that the relationship between adherence to treatment and quality of life is low in patients with renal failure on hemodialysis.
