The present study aimed to review the psychometric properties of the State-Trait Anger Expression
Inventory (STAXI-2) in a population receiving military and police instruction in Trujillo. The type of
sampling used was non-probabilistic and intentional type, which allows selecting characteristic cases of
a population by limiting the sample only to cases that met the inclusion criteria. The sample was made
up of (n = 649). The STAXI-2 was applied and subsequently the psychometric properties were analyzed.
The results showed that the inventory presents validity of content by judge criteria, reaching relevance,
clarity and coherence. Construct validity by the Item-test method, where items with r> .20 have been
considered valid. The confirmatory factor analysis determined that the goodness of fit is good (GFI and
CFI> at .90). The inventory was reduced from 6 dimensions to 4 factors. Reliability by internal consistency
is acceptable with a (α = .83). Homogeneity establishes significance. The scales were elaborated by
intervals.
