Abstract

In this study we analyzed the relations between job stress and creativity into the frame of Karasek's model control demand. We selected a sample of 134 elementary school teachers from Arequipa city who were tested by Creative teachers profile and Töres Theorell Job Stress Scale. The results showed that 72.1% of teachers had adequate levels of creativity and high levels of job stress. We also found positive relations between job stress and job demands, control and creativity. Control in job was related positively with social support and creativity, so were creativity and social support.
