The key proposal for this research was an air preheater, which uses the sensible heat of the waste gases from the boiler to be transferred thermally to the air, which gradually increases its temperature. In order to carry out this it was necessary to do the analysis of records and data of the factory and also it was necessary to make measurements of temperature and wind speeds, already done this the calculation of the total yield was made based on the NTP 350.300: 2001 of the Boiler APIN pyrotubular of 400 BHP, obtained the performance was continued with the thermal calculation of the Preheater of air obtaining thus the exit temperature of the residual gases not to form acid rain in the premises and also the new incoming temperature to the boiler APIN, finished This was the dimensional calculation of the air preheater, thus obtaining the shell diameter, the diameter of heat exchange tubes as well as its internal diameter and height. As a conclusion we determined that this project is viable both technically and economically generating a NPV of S /. 459,827IRR of 84% based on 10 years and an effective annual rate of 7.64% provided by Scotiabank and a PRI of 1.68 years, this project would generate a gross annual income of S /. 116,903,2953. Finally, the APIN boiler output increase would be 4.2049% and would also represent a reduction in the emission of carbondioxide (CO2) equivalent to 415,148.9328 kg-CO2 / year.
