Work climate and life satisfaction in workers of a public university

Abstract

The objective was to determine the relationship between work environment and satisfaction with life in workers of a public university. A study with a quantitative approach, correlational scope and non-experimental design was carried out in a sample of 116 workers, who were administered the CL - SPC organizational climate scale and the SWLS life satisfaction scale. It was found that 46,6% of the respondents are in a regular level of work environment and 40,5% in an unfavorable level. In addition, 56,9% of those surveyed are at a level of satisfaction with life, 31,9% at a level of dissatisfaction. Likewise, a statistically significant relationship was found between work environment and life satisfaction (p < 0,05), showing a moderate positive relationship with a Spearman rho of 0,456. It is concluded that there is a significant difference between the study variables organizational climate and satisfaction with life in workers of a public university.
