This paper examines how César Vallejo is approached in two recent Peruvian novels. It explains how Vallejo becomes the protagonist of narrative plots that combine reality with fiction to offer us a credible recreation of the character and the national and international environment in which he spent his worldly life until he became the greatest poet of Peruvian letters and one of the most innovative poets of the twentieth century Hispanic American poetry influential in Hispanic American poetry.
